Zen j
Primary / Secondary

A part of me felt i should come back to this point i tried to capture with push & pull. i'll come at it from aother angle this time, starting with an analogy from the movie tron. there are two scenarios within this movie; a primary one (the flynn persona, focused at the more direct, one-eyed viewpoint) and the secondary one (the computer world environment), left up to the hidden senses to play with.

moviemakers depend on this double reception method in order to tell the story and have it received in the right way; it's a trick they know through experience and i am about to uncover through words right here. in accordance with Zen Pi, a person will conjure an ideal self to live out. the feelings which concur with this ideal self are pushed through towards the outside world, while those feelings which are neglected or are left undawn upon by the new self are left down in the low parts of the brain to fester. this is the dividing point of how art like this is interpreted, because here you can clearly see that now the person will need two or more stimuli to feel a true emotion. while the primary stimuli focuses on an ideal image, the one of the ambitios flynn, the secondary plotline, one of an alternate reality, tends to the unthought-of reaches of the mind.

like i said in Zen Upsilon, the interest comes from when these two sides share information and communicate with one another.  The more times i watched tron, the more i was drawn away from the initial plot and became more interested in this subliminal things that the director placed in the computer world.

application

any secondary stimulus must remain completely oblivious on the surface level to the primary goal. this seems to have become an art form in itself, fo rthose who have recognized parts or all of this truth - esxactly how the primary and secondary points flow into each other without giving away what they mean to the audience can make or break a peice of art.
