Shifts

In every opposition, regardless of winner or loser, someone always comes out on top, and the other always comes out underneath. The turn of events that control who has the last laugh or who can undermine the other can continually shift this opposition to favor one over the other, but it is usually set that the winner will have a more clear set in his head. In other words have a more define, under-cutting view of the situation of the reality than the person losing.

In terms of respect to both sides, a few things can be taken into consideration that will determine a loser straight off:

- the person who wants to get the best of someone else for the reason of anything other than the end itself is serving the argument as a means to his own end, and therefor given enough time will fall through to the base of his true nature.

- The person who fears the other, or lacks experience, or simply lets situation get the best of him in times of consequence will falter to the other man, regardless of how much inexperience the other may have.  Every man can either live for the moment or force the moment to live for him.

- A person who seems to take the whiny ‘coming up from behind’ strategy will never be anything more than just that. If the person does manage to get on top, people will see the argument now as a hole of insecurity and pounce upon it faster than anything else.  What can the person do? Nothing. The people who are now attacking you are the same types of whiners you were to get yourself on top, and you sure as hell can’t say they’re as good as you, because then you’ll have lost your position. It’s a catch-22 I stay away from.  Ie: the ‘alternative’ music scene that is now on top of the popular music genre. All it did was drive the true alternatives into a more crabby position, while the record companies scurried around to find ‘more’ alternative bands, some just hiding.
